Sorry for the delayed response. I had the video team check the production notes from this shoot but the video was produced over three years ago. I believe the featured models are in the 40″-46″ range. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030–Crutchfield

LED televisions still use an LCD panel but they use Light Emitting Diodes to provide the illumination of the image. Older LCD televisions used CCFL (Fluorescent) tubes for illumination. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030–Crutchfield

There isn’t a minimum required distance. We recommend 5-8 feet viewing distance for a 40″ TV–Crutchfield

  • hybridownzDK posted: 17 Jan at 6:24 pm

Thanks for your information I have a 40 inch tv I watch in SD, HD and soon 3D can you tell me how far away I have to sit?

  • crutchfieldtv posted: 17 Jan at 6:24 pm

While there is no standard formula for viewing distance, we recommend a minimum viewing distance of twice the screen size. So, for a 55″ HD display, we recommend sitting at least 9′ from the screen for the best picture quality. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030–Crutchfield

Plasmas have the potential to retain a still or static image when displayed continuously on the screen over time. Because most video games provide a HUD (Health, Ammo, Inventory, etc.) on the same part of the screen the entire time you play, they can be burned into the screen and be visible when you are viewing other content. • jumpsinblackhole posted: 17 Jan at 6:24 pm

how do i know of potential burn-in?

  • crutchfieldtv posted: 17 Jan at 6:24 pm

Basically, it’s really a matter of personal preference. Plasmas offer the best response but you’ll need to be aware of potential burn-in. At this time, the smallest Plasma screen we offer is 50″. LCD and LED models do not suffer from burn-in but the 120Hz and 240Hz refresh rates can cause some latency between the controller and display. LCD and LED models are available is a wide variety of sizes. Feel free to call for a personalized recommendation: 800.315.0030—Crutchfield

i need a smooth fluid lcd for fast gaming.. any ideals?

  • flyingcumshot posted: 17 Jan at 6:24 pm

you might want to check out the samsung ue32es6710 it’s 32″, 1080p, 400hz, 3D and all for £700, i am vwery impressed with mine.

  • crutchfieldtv posted: 17 Jan at 6:24 pm

Smaller TV’s are less prone to blurring the video it is showing. I believe this to be the reason that the manufacturers we carry do not offer such a model at this time. I imagine as 3D trickles down to smaller sizes, there will be more 32″ TV’s that do have the 120Hz or faster refresh rate. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030–Crutchfield

  • 1blu21blu1 posted: 17 Jan at 6:24 pm

Why is it so difficult to get a television of specs: 32″ 1080p 120hz refresh rate ?!!
When I find one that is 32″ 1080p…it is 60hz
Or another may be 1080p with the 120hz…….but its forty-something inches.
I WANT 32″ 1080p 120hz. And not any cheap outer space brand that will shut down in under one year. A credible enough brand. Is that impossible or something??…??…steups.

We do not offer the “430″ model ourselves, but if it’s a Samsung product, you can be sure it’s very good quality. We offer the PN43D450 model which still suits your requirements and budget. Simply type our item number (30543D450) into the search window on the Crutchfield website. You can also call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030—Crutchfield

  • thebeetalls posted: 17 Jan at 6:24 pm

What is your opinion on the Samsung PN43D430? ~80% of the time the TV will be used for gaming in a dimly lit “cave”, and I figured the plasma would do well there. It looks like its probably the best deal out there for us, but If you have any other suggestions on a sub-$500 40+ incher, I’d love to hear them.
