Tutorial – What makes a Good Computer Monitor? Computer Monitor Buying Guide – Updated for 2012

  • TheeImmortalPhoenix posted: 16 Jan at 1:02 pm

Yep this one is good too, although like I said before, I prefer viewsonic over AOC

  • taeyeonwong posted: 16 Jan at 1:02 pm

Very sorry, i meant AOC IPS i2367Fh 23-Inch Screen LED Monitor.

  • taeyeonwong posted: 16 Jan at 1:02 pm

Alright, good advice. One last thing though. This is probably the most important. Which of THESE two would you buy:

AOC IPS I2353PH 23-Inch Screen LED Monitor
AOC IPS i2367Fh 23-Inch Screen LED Monitor

People complained about bleeding with my monitor, but I’ve never seen it.

I think Bleeding is a false term that has been added to IPS monitors by the TN companies to try to make them seem bad.

Why would any company sell monitors that bleed? It’s a bad business practice.

In reality next to no IPS monitors bleed, especially all the ones that I have seen.

HP does have a better name, but their monitor is of inferior quality. So for that reason, I’d still buy the 1990s technology IPS.

  • taeyeonwong posted: 16 Jan at 1:02 pm

See, I would think HP is a more popular and trustworthy brand rather than AOC which I’ve never even heard of. Just because it’s an IPS monitor, could there still be bleeding ?

  • TheeImmortalPhoenix posted: 16 Jan at 1:02 pm

The AOC is better because it’s an IPS monitor. It’s 1990s technology versus 1900s technology. So the better monitor is obviously the IPS one.

  • taeyeonwong posted: 16 Jan at 1:02 pm

    Which monitor would be better:

    HP x2301 23″ or AOC I2353PH 23″ ?

I’m planning to buy an external monitor for my 13″ macbook pro. I want a very crisp image with sharp text and good contrast. Also, i’ll be playing videos on it.

Thanks for the comment it will be very helpful. Do you think that it would be a good monitor to get?

  • TheeImmortalPhoenix posted: 16 Jan at 1:02 pm

Yes, I just checked on here:
    scan. co .u k/products/23-lg-ips234v-ips-led-monitor-full-hd-dvi-vga-hdmi-1920×1080-250cd-m-5m1-12-ms

    “Panel Type: LED (Backlit) ”

Like all other LED Monitors, they are LED Backlit. The screen itself of LCD.

  • hamiheag posted: 16 Jan at 1:02 pm

Would the LG IPS234v-PN.AEK PS 23 inch LED wide screen monitor be LED back lit?

  • TheeImmortalPhoenix posted: 16 Jan at 1:02 pm

    Glad it helped you :)

Finding monitors is daunting and I tried to make the job a lot easier.

IPS is the way of the future :)

  • TheeImmortalPhoenix posted: 16 Jan at 1:02 pm

    Yea :) , glad to help :)

Feel free to get any IPS from any company. It’s not really the company so much as it’s the product of IPS.

So a Samsung IPS monitor will do just as well :)

  • Kim Boubi posted: 16 Jan at 1:02 pm

it’s the Viewsonic, right ? :p ok, i think i’ll get this one :) thank you for your help :D

  • TheeImmortalPhoenix posted: 16 Jan at 1:02 pm

Thanks also for your comment and for subscribing Kim!! :)

More tutorial vids and video game episodes to come!

  • TheeImmortalPhoenix posted: 16 Jan at 1:02 pm

That samsung is a dirt cheap TN monitor. Don’t be fooled!
The Viewsonic is an IPS one.
Get the IPS VX2336S. IPS technology was invented in the 1990s, TN monitors in the early 1900s.

One is better than the other, guess which one :)

  • Kim Boubi posted: 16 Jan at 1:02 pm

    Samsung 22 LED S22B300B or Viewsonic VX2336S:??
