So there are no clips holding the digitizer down on the 4th generation ipod touch? Just glue?

@SonOfHeavenlyIsrael That is a good question and with no easy answer! We use a combination of tools and a small vice and do it little by little to try and tweak out any bends in the case so the screen will fit flat.

Hi there, the copper tape is most likely there for grounding which is no t essential but would help and also there to ensure that the digitizer connection doesn’t come loose so we always put it back on. The metal frame at the top has a couple of uses and again we always retain and refit but I have seen repairs done without them and they seem ok. The primary role of the frame is to hook under the top of the plastic surround to hold the screen down so is good to have but not essential

amazing tutorial and best in depth on i have found on YouTube. could you please tell me what the copper tap were the digitizer connects to the main board actually does. would be very grateful if anyone could tell me and also do you need the metal frame at the top of the digitizer to reassemble it properly as i did not salvage it before i binned the old screen. thanks
